How bad was it where you are?

I live in Beechview, so I knew not to take Banksville this morning. The other way I take off the hill is Crane to 51. Crane had some spots where the patches from recent water/sewer line replacement were completely washed away, and the intersection with 51 was full of debris. Not just rocks and mud but stuff like bricks and cans. At about 9 it looked like the police were shutting down 51 south at the intersection with Woodruff.

Yeah, the photos on the PG site look pretty bad in parts of Castle Shannon, Bethel Park, Dormont, and Cecil. Getting home tonight could be ugly.

I have been following the Twitter feeds for https://twitter.com/Allegheny_Co and https://twitter.com/CityPGH for emergency updates and road closure information. Be safe, folks!

I thought the flooding directly outside of the outbound Fort Pitt Tunnel this morning was bizarre. Have we ever really seen that area flood before? I live about 1.5 miles off the Green Tree exit of the Parkway West. I can safely say, it did monsoon in the immediate area for about 30 solid minutes, if not more.

There was severe flooding all through southern Allegheny County. Mt. Lebanon had many roads closed, and the T was shut down in Bethel Park. Piney Fork creek had 2 cars stuck on a bridge there in South Park.

Batten down the hatches, folks. Like it or not there is a massive slow-moving line of torrential storms coming in again from Western and Central Ohio that should hit us at the tail end of the evening rush.

I never saw a storm in Pittsburgh like we had this morning. It was dark as night and raining like it does in the tropics.

There were waves on Rt 88 and torrents of water rushing down the hills onto it.

My went off around 6 AM today, didn't know what it was. Did I somehow sign up for that service?
