I bet schools are the bigger issue over taxes. The real estate in the city is likely cheaper enough to make up for the income tax difference. Plus some of the suburbs might have higher property taxes and other minor costs like a separate trash collection bill. But none of that matters if you feel that you must spend thousands of dollars a year on private schools.

I'm talking about the candidates themselves. Rudiak and Gilman are both under 35, I believe. Peduto just turned 49 -- which is like a generation younger than Jack Wagner, Bob O'Connor, or Sophie Masloff. I have no idea how old Deb Gross is, but I'm confident she's younger than Len Bodack.
