The prompt was to name a place famous for its roads, not a place that would attract MathmanMathman to it because of its roads. Their roads are impressive marvels of engineering despite being often traffic clogged and under construction. The feeling of going 130+ MPH on an unrestricted autobahn is pretty incredible. Dare I say "famous."

I saw a documentary on the autobahn a while back and the thing that impressed me was that German cars don't have cup holders. Is this true? When Germans drive, they pay attention and don't eat, gab on the phone or text in the car. At least, that's what they said in the doc. One reason they can probably go so fast without going splat.

I have been in a BMW 6 series that only had 1 cupholder. Yes, a 75k car with 1 cupholder.

I believe an American base infamously posted on its exit (and I paraphrase) "Warning, you are entering the world's most dangerous highway system".

Considering the thread topic, "famous" was meant to imply concomitant to "touristic". I mean Switzerland is "famous" for its banking, but that's not what attracted MathmanMathman to visit.

Need to extend it even more to the airport so the tourists can get there.

Swedes feel the same way: my ancient Saab (1997 - just got antique tags!) and 1998 Volvo wagon are both without cup holders. None of DH's BMWs have cup holders, and they are all from the current century, lol.

Forgive me for going back on topic....

I'm an inveterate trash picker, so it should tell you something that I find a proposed "signature" piece for Pittsburgh made out of used scaffolding to be somewhat lacking in class.
