I'm not sure what part of Station Square this is opening (or what restaurant it may or may not be replacing) but Texas de Brazil is opening in Station Square at some point in 2012 according to their website. Pittsburgh (Opening 2012!) | Texas De Brazil

Currently, we have a churrascaria on Rodi Road known as Green Forest. Having both shouldn't be a problem. They tend to be popular in other cities.

Mmmmmm, I love this restaurant. I ate at the one in Orlando and was hoping they'd open one up here. This was orignally going to open in the spring but apparently now it will be this November. I also am curious where in Station Square it will be.

Anyone ever try Green Forest? I was tempted to give it a try, but the reviews on Yelp, Google, etc. are mixed. That's a pricey dinner for a possibly mediocre meal.

There was supposed to be an Asian Fusion place right next to Bar Louie, where the comedy club was. I wonder if it'll end up occupying that space.

I worked at Station Square and still park there daily. I always am curious how the restaurants do, business wise. During the week, they never seem all that busy, yet on the weekends, I'm sure everything ends up with a wait. Thoughts?

This is great news!!
I have been to green forest and the food is amazing IMO. On top of the non stop delicious meat coming to your table, there is also a buffet area with tons of other food.

I think the better question is how come Pittsburgh doesn't rate a Fogo de Chao? They're everywhere.

Being a significant city and not having one is like not having a Hard Rock Cafe in the 80s. It's a diss!

I'm not sure, either. I will note that (off the top of my head) The Melting Pot, Hard Rock Cafe, Grand Concourse, and (soon-to-be) Texas de Brazil have their only local locations at Station Square so I imagine that those probably do pretty well, even though they are more expensive restaurants.

Buca di Beppo, Houlihan's, Joe's Crab Shack, and Bar Louie can all be found elsewhere with free parking.

However, being that the Sheraton is there, Gateway Clipper dock, and that Station Square has nightlife and is across from a T station, it is quite possible that everything located there does fairly well.

It will possibly help when the soccer stadium is complete, and if the indoor "mall" ever updates or changes into something of more use than it's current state.

Eh...looking at the Fogo de Chao location list on their website...they're in mostly South and West cities. The exceptions being Philly, DC, and Baltimore. I think we will eventually see one in Pittsburgh as the chain expands. There are none in the three C's in Ohio. None in NYC or Boston, yet either.

Even in the west, there are no locations in Seattle or San Francisco either.

Ive lived in Southern Brasil, which is the Churrasco capital and first location of Fago De Chao, and I can say the Green Forest is good. It isnt the best churrascaria ive been to, even in the US, but it is cheaper than say Fago De Chao. Ive never been to Texas Do Brazil, so I cant compare them. I would recommend the green forest though.
