In what way? There are dumpy areas of Philly, correct. But there are also very nice areas of Philadelphia. Do we have to compare things like million dollar listings, population growth, construction #'s, etc.?

No. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh both have plenty of nice areas.

Not at all. Your notion that anyone who has anything positive to say about Philadelphia is hilarious. I can talk about both positives and negatives for Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and the entire state of PA to be honest. You seem to be much more of a booster for Pittsburgh. It seems you believe it's urban utopia and it's close to or surpasses Philadelphia... which is hilarious, because in honesty they're not really close. That doesn't take anything away from Pittsburgh, as it's a great city, but it's a mid-sized city. Philadelphia is one of the largest cities in the country, and with that comes more of everything.

In fairness, I think blackbeauty does like Philly, and outside of arguments with "boosters" (perceived or otherwise) has mostly positive things to say about it.

Just a limited observation (I don't feel the need to address the merits of yours or anyone else's claims in this thread--not at this time, anyway ).

I'm sure that's true- but they built I95 through some pretty crappy areas, and people just passing through might get a different idea about the town.

I have never stopped over in Philadelphia, except for short periods at the bus station. But I understand the mainline areas and some of the other neighborhoods are pretty nice.

I think the whole thing is mostly a "rivalry" kind of thing, mostly promoted by hockey fans.

It's pretty ridiculous though to form your opinion on a city over sports. There really isn't much of a sports rivalry at all between Philly and Pitt anyways.

And while portions of the city which I-95 run through may seem dumpy, most of it is actually pretty nice neighborhoods or rapidly developing post-industrial areas.

Again, it's pretty silly to inform an opinion on a city on a highway ride through said city lol.

Clearly you've never been to a pens vs. flyers game.

Makes sense, haha. I'm not a hockey fan really. Mostly baseball and football.

The numbers don't lie, sweetheart. Chicago has more crime by numbers, but less per capita. Chicago has MASSIVE crime problems. Mostly in black neighborhoods isolated on the Southwest side. They can't seem to stop shooting each other. It is really a shame. Philly has the same problem. So does Pittsburgh (on a smaller scale because it is a much smaller city). America is a cesspool of crime unfortunately, especially compared to our Canadian and European counterparts. But don't think the numbers lie. They are what they are. Philly and Pittsburgh both have higher murder rates in 2014 than Chicago.

Lol. I always thought you were far from credible from past encounters I've had with you on this forum. Solidified.

Won't be the case this year.
