No. I do know we have a lot of crime downtown. We need to elect a mayor that supports police.

Got it. if you didn't know what I was talking about you would have asked what the hell I meant.

Man, give it up. We don't care about little things like shootings and stabbings in this town. We have more pressing issues to be concerned about. Like Stephen Foster statues and Kenny Chesney concerts. And fighting white privilege.

this is a cyclical thing, which occurs everywhere. you get a group within an age group - rivals by way of schools, street gangs, or whatever other reason. over time, they get older, tired of the games, and move on, die, or go to jail. crime subsides. we rejoice....then it starts over again.

that station is beautiful, but no one notices.

It is a pretty cool building. but it kind of gets lost in the mix. Downtown is blessed with a ridiculous amount of good architecture. The recent restoration of the Union Trust bldg adds to it, because it was seen as a dead zone before, besides the striking building. but not now.

I dont think its the T station itself, perhaps the bus stops along Liberty, but most of these stories could be described as “Yet another shooting at the closed Sally Beauty Store” but the Wood Street T station is better known so it gets the headline.

The station itself is pretty clean and has new lighting so it is much brighter than before. The sidewalks outside might be an issue for some but inside is pretty much a normal T station.

Sure seems that way. I guess if you want the bar super LOW in Pittsburgh you can fight the ones that created it and made it great, like the new money moving in that are saving some of our significant homes that needed saving. The people moving in won't burn down their business district in protest of something. They have too much pride.

Well said Fat Lou.

i am with you on that as well.

i honestly do hope the usual contrarian voices (blackbeauty, wpipkins) do not feel unwelcome and think they can't discuss on this board with us respectfully. seems we are overwhelmingly all in agreement with some of these topics lately.

It is a nice building, but full of street thugs that are up to no good. I am still a large and young enough man, but there is no way I would be there as an older person and I wouldn't recommend it for any single women, but I think they all know that. Shame hard working good people have to deal with the crap lingering downtown, but it is probably heading back to the old Liberty Ave. days of the 80's if we don't get rid of some mayor that caters to the street thug group. Clean it up and get them out, like a few years back. Side with police unless they attack someone for no reason like that did that kid outside the stadium. That cop needed to go, but for the most part they should be proactive and kick some butt.
