Hello Pittsburgh,
I will be moving to Pittsburgh in a few years with my two young
adult children. After reading this wonderful forum, and looking up facts about
the area,I am very interested in the south hills(Whitehall,Baldwin, etc.
We will be in the area this summer to help us make up our minds,as to
where we want to live.
There is a bus from New York that runs express to Allentown. Please help with the name.Thank you in advance.

FYI, you should be able to catch a train ride from NYC direct to Pittsburgh.

Actually, that would be Fullington Trailways. Fullington doesn't actually have buses that go between Pittsburgh and New York, though trips using multiple Trailways providers (Fullington and Capitol Trailways or Fullington and Susquehanna Trailways) are possible.

Greyhound does have buses that go to New York from Pittsburgh, though most/all of them have intermediate stops (like Harrisburg and Philadelphia). This would still probably be your best bet via bus.

There may be a Chinatown bus line that operates between Pittsburgh and New York, though that is a long distance for a Chinatown bus.

Finally, the Amtrak Pennsylvanian has one train/day in each direction that travels between Pittsburgh and New York.

Yeah, my friends and I have taken the train round trip from Pgh to NYC, and we liked it better than the Greyhound. The last time we went, Amtrak was a little more expensive than Greyhound, but we thought it was worth the money.
