Does anyone know where I could find pictures of Downtown Pittsburgh?

There are a lot of pictures of Pittsburgh at www.Pittsburghskyline.com too. Just curious, though, any reason you're looking for pictures?

I'm looking for pictures because I was thinking of moving to Pittsburgh. I wanted to see if Downtown Pittsburgh was clean. I have been looking at information from city-data.com, [url], and the downtown Pittsburgh website, and must admit I am quiet pleased. The nightlife and cost of living are really good in Pittsburgh. As a high school graduate looking to spread my wings (and on a budget) I am looking for a safe, nice, affordable, clean city to move into. Michigan is way too boring.

One word of caution: a high school grad looking to spread his wings may have a hard time finding suitable employment in Pittsburgh. It's a very tough job market there. Try to get something lined up first, if possible.

I don't think it's that tough of a job market for the type of work a high school graduate would be seeking.

I guess it depends on whether he intends to make enough money to simultaneously eat and have a place to live.

Stellar, I hope you found the pictures enjoyable! I'm not real familiar with the job market in Pittsburgh specifically, but times are a bit slow everywhere at the moment from what I've seen.

Thanks for starting this thread, too. I miss Pittsburgh something fierce, and it was great to go back through the pictures!

Best of luck to you & hope you love living in the 'Burgh!

He can find someone who is renting out a room, or share an house or apartment with someone.

I know a young man with only a high school degree. He is making enough as a cook in a cafe to pay for his own 1 bedroom apartment (in Point Breeze). He's certainly not living the high life but seems happy for right now. Housing and public transportation is cheap enough for him that he can have a little bit of a life as well as an apartment. I think he'll have to go back to college eventually though, if he wants to really get ahead here. I'm not sure that's not the case anywhere these days now, though. I think a college degree is turning into what a high school diploma used to be in terms of career advancement.
