Yinzers: A Dying Breed (Pittsburgh, Allentown: neighborhoods, live, garden)

As the demographic of Pittsburgh becomes decidedly more educated, the City of Pittsburgh is losing much of it's Yinzer populace. True, we can go down to The Strip and see many vendors selling Steeler gear and t shirts celebrating the Yinzer. The sterotypical Yinzer is not seen as highly intelligent or sophisticated, although Myron Cope had one of the thickest Pittsburgh/Yinzer accents that I ever heard and had very high I.Q. Thee are many exceptions.
Anyway, recent studies have shown that Pittsburgh is one of the most educated cities in the USA. So where are all of these Yinzers residing that seem to dominate the news when the "crick" overflows?
Lawrenceville, for example, was the prototypical Yinzer neighborhood about 15-20 years ago. Now it is full of students and artists. I can't think of a single East End neighborhood that I would consider Yinzer. The South Side is not Yinzer. The North Side neighborhhods of Spring Garden and Troy Hill are still a bit Yinzer. I am not familar with areas like Carrick or Overbrook.
Pittsburgh seems to be celebrating Yinzerism more now than when it actually mostly Yinzer several years ago. After all, it was Yinzer blood, sweat, and tears that built this great city.

Southside + Brentwood, Brookline, Beechview, Banksville, Bon Air, Overbrook, Mt Washington, Carrick, Mt Oliver, Arlington, Allentown, McKees Rocks, Esplen, Carneige, East Carneige, Millvale, Etna, Larwanceville, Mourningside, & all the Mon Valley have a decnt amount of yinsers

So southern neighborhoods seem to still be the Yinzer strongholds, with some other river towns. The major city neighborhoods have changed their demographic, like much of North Side, South Side, Oakland, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, East Liberty, Regent Square, Point Breeze. These seem to be the neighborhoods people are looking at for the most part, and are without question, less yinzer.

True much of the Northside & Oakland/Blomfield have lost a huge population of Yinzers... The working class West End neighborhoods seem to have lost agood bit too... Yet Idk when the last decade the East End & Beltzhoover/Knoxville, saw Yinzers?

The most "Yinzer" neighborhood in the East End is probably Stanton Heights.

I don't know. I get the feeling that Polish Hill is becoming more trendy and less blue collar as time goes on.

Yinzers are fading away slowly, but believe me they still FAR outnumber hipsters and students. Since this board seems to only hang out in the trendy spots of town it could seem like they don't exist but that certainly is not the case. Go to any sporting event and see that this town is still very much Yinzer central.

There is still a decent amount of them on west side areas of Craftton Hts. and Elliot.
