I have been reading on various forums through out the day of many posters who said the mayor should be impeached for the weather fiasco in the city. I saw many folks interviewed on the evening news complaining that they are still "marooned" in their neighborhoods. I went to WTAE website a few minutes ago and saw this news article and some good comments that the readers have posted as well which I thought would be of interest here.

Wasn't Luke out at Seven Springs during the whole snow fiasco anyway? That's why you don't elect a child to run a major city. They just want to party.

That happened to Chicago's Mayor Bilandic in 1979. He supposedly was voted out because of slow response after a blizzard in 1979. Is it fair? Hard to say.

I somehow knew this would happen. Luke is a joke of a politician. I hope all those grandmas in Brookline who make up the majority of his base are happy being marooned in their neighborhoods.

Federico Pena messed up big time in Denver during one blizzard, and the next thing we knew, Clinton had appointed him as secretary of transportation. It was really ironic b/c he couldn't even keep the streets plowed! Politics is strange. I read that your mayor was snowed in there in the Laurel Highlands, supposedly couldn't get out.

Far worse than a snow event gone bad !
Pittsburgh is suffering from the pathetic lack of leadership on Grant Street. Far worse than any snow event gone terrible is the lack of financial and developmental work this guy brings to the table. Pittsburgh is falling behind most regional cities for lack of leadership at the government level. It's a shame given the great foundations and private work we have going on here.
