All the great religions and science condemn the practice of homosexuality. Homosexuals have the same rights as everyone else in the country. There are certain groups that can't marry because it goes against our morals, we don't allow adult/child marriages, brother/sister, father/daughter, we don't allow men to marry more the one woman, we don't allow humans to marry animals, this what the law of the land has always been, it has nothing to do with oppression.

Science doesn't. Science has no opinion on homosexualtiy; only that it occurs naturally in nature.

As for rights; homosexuals do not have the right marry the ones they love.

What morals would that be? since nothing that homosexuals do goes against any morals of any kind, what morals are they going against?

oh wait, religious based morals. Sorry, i'm not religious so what they do in their personal lives do no AFFECT me, so whatever imaginary morals you think they violate doesn't matter one bit.

And btw, their behavior doesn't affect you either.

heterosexual couples do more disgusting immoral things in public than gays do, but I don't see you criticizing them for doing so.

This post is just full of ignorance. Then again, most religious people are.

Marriages between couples of mixed races used to be banned for the same moral and religious reasons as gay marriages are forbidden. It was thought that allowing a white person to marry an asian or a black or hispanic would cause society to collapse. The couples were often harassed, threatened and run out of town, Land lords would not rent to them and neighbors would treat them poorly. A judge in the south tried to prevent a mixed race couple from getting married just last year. I read in the news that Liz Taylor is getting married again and it is like the ninth time for her and I do not believe she has ever had any children by any man. She is certainly not getting married for the "children". If one wants to believe and practice a religion, fine, but to expect and demand that others believe the same way that you do and support your beliefs is going too far. All churches should be taxed to knock them off their high horses.

So if the church is going to start controlling who can and cannot get married, then the church should make sure that those getting married are "true" virgins (this goes for both the man and the woman), ready and willing to produce (maybe the church could test for fertility before marrying the lovely couple) and FREE AND CLEAR OF ALL OTHER SINS!!!
Love it! With this in mind, NO ONE would be allowed to marry!

I dont see anywhere where science condemn the practise of homosexuality. Besides if 2 people really love each other and want to marry if they are homosexual or hetrosexual there is nothing wrong with it as people marry out of love.

What rights are a homosexual couple taking away from you that wish to marry?

No,that was showing the futility of your straws.
Another one would be to point out that not all people (even in hetero marriages) can reproduce and yes, some don't even want to reproduce.
Then too, gay people can reproduce and do reproduce with the help of surragates, sperm banks and yes....even the old fashioned way

...Which is part of the problem right there. The topic is gay rights. Rights are concepts guaranteed by law. The law of the land in the United States is the Constitution, not the church.
