If you talking about muslims, there are many muslims that are American born. There are even muslims that are of WASP backgrounds. Anyway muslims only represent 1% of the population of America, same with my country so I dont see any evidence that muslims are taking over in America or my country.

I also think a lot of people hate all Muslims, including, possibly the OP. This is inconsistent with the ideals this nation was built on. However, the actions of a few militant Muslims on that day will make it difficult to be tolerant.

But if the will of the people is to prevent the Mosque from being built, that will should also be respected. After all, even the views of the intolerant should be respected, if ALL views are to be respected.

Of course, personal property rights should be respected too.

Glad I'm not the one that has to make this decision....

Hates a very strong emotion and the word is mostly used by those who are full of it .

I don't hate anyone but I do dislike a theocracy that comes to cause trouble whos very name means " submission ". Submit, pay a tax or die , that what you like ? Hope you hurry on to one of their nations .

They will tell you they are not here to join us to to make us submit to them.

You go submit

Yeah that sounds about right.

And so have many Muslims. You have a problem with their house of worship being near a place so many of them hold close to their hearts? You seem to forget it wasn't just White Christian Republicans that were lost in the attacks. *shakes head*

It wasn't the white christians republicans that you detest that flew into the buildings or celebrated it either .

If New Yorkers allow this insult to those who died and let these radicals put up this memorial for the murderers than they are all cowards ,imo .

I notice that you don't condemn those actions. What were some people saying on here about that we can't trust Muslims because they do not refute the actions of the few?
Don't come here insulting me and what littles left of my nation and not expect it back .

They should only be allowed a Mosque in NYC if Dick Cheney, Julie Annie, Carl Rove, Condi Rice and W are required to attend, and perform all the ceremonies that devout Muslims do.

Nope.

Criteria depends upon the situation and the people involved. If a muslim denounced the attacks months or years after the event, I wouldn't believe him/her.

White Christian Republicans. That's hilarious! You forget this is a liberal blue state.

I know very well who died that day.

We are trying to convince them to move it. Not elimiate the mosque, just move it to a respectful distance. I'm not sure we will be successful, as many have pointed out, they already have the site and they don't respect the victims and their families.

That is what my nation is about. My family came here in 1630 seeking freedom, the rest came in 1900, and many Muslim families have come since. We all are looking for the same thing. If I have to give my life for that nation, so be it, but insulting those who try to block that promise of freedom from other Americans is an absolute pleasure.

They have plenty of respect for me, my family, and my lost loved ones, as well as all of my friends and family currently living in NYC who support them wholeheartedly.

Default The mosque should be welcomed

I don't know any NYers who have expressed outrage over this and I personally wouldn't find the presence of a mosque a few blocks from the 911 site offensive at all.

Far more offensive and problematic is the continuing existence of the conservative party.
