That's an easy one..... Because they have no real parental guidance.... Too many parents today think that society is going to do majority of the raising of their kids for them. Hence the bad attitudes and entitlement mentalities of youth today and the things they get into. And the parents remain blind to it all..... it's the American way anymore.
And for those that do receive some guidance..... it is usually coming from the younger generations of people who have these bad attitudes and entitlement mentalities already as this is how they were raised and know no better. The blind leading the blind.
I sincerely disagree with your assessment of the problem.
Kids are going to experiment with whatever is available. Make pot unavailable and they'll try other stuff.
It's what kids do, experiment.
DARE programs don't work and when kids realize that they've been bs'd they go the other way.
Kids are contrary.

I doubt that.
Everyone has heard of meth. Just because your group isn't doing it, I can assure you students most likely are.
I hate to break it to you, but a lot of the manufacture has been outsourced to Mexico, damn NAFTA.
When I lived in Sacramento I noticed it was HUGE there, a lot of my neighbors were on it, and many people I'd meet throughout the area. When I lived in Richmond, I didn't even see it. When I lived in suburban Marin, I saw it, but only with the bar crowds that wanted to party all night, not what I'd think of as a stereotypical tweeker, I'm sure many of those folks became tweekers. Now that I'm in the sticks, I don't even see people so I can't really speak to it's effect there.
It's a cheap easy escape from a crappy life I suppose, but all it really does is make life crappier.
Why should innocent people be required to pay big $$$ to see a Dr. everytime they have a sinus headache because of a bunch of criminals?
Do innocent poeple not pay for the huge drug burden, even though they never do drugs? The doctors could call it in without seeing you. This could be a etter way to document the sell of these drugs. You are allready paying for the control of all drugs.

Apparently you don't disagree with my assessment, more so you don't understand what I'm saying...... You describe exactly what I'm talking about ! Instead of knowing your kid and being able to dealing with them about ANYTHING in a way and on a level they can relate to strongly throughout their entire life, parents will depend on society to do it for them via groups, school & programs and such..... I'd say that is one of the bigger roots to the problem and you seem to agree as well !
