I agree, Jones is nothing but a troll and all trolls thrive on attention whether it's positive or negative.

And Muslims invaded and conquered Spain and Sicily hundreds of years before the Crusades. Muslims occupied Spain for 800 years, and we don't teach our children to hate muslims due to "occupation" nor do we bring up Spain every time they or libs bring up the crusades.

He won't back down, too ignorant to understand what is at stake and it isn't the governments role, duty or responsibility physically stop him.

The problem is, he knows that he's going to get attention. If the rest of us could count on the media turning their back on him, he wouldn't be saying the things he does. But the media needs headlines, and in the frenzy to get them, common sense goes out the window (occasionally, down the toilet).

Strange to see a certain segment of the population quickly jump on his bandwagon though.

What saddens me about this topic is this: this book-burning preacher with a ‘flock’ of fifty people (if I recall the reports correctly) is engaging in this book-burning stunt for this reason: to become famous, increase his followers, and hence increase his own wealth through contributions from said followers. I bet he is also hoping for a TV or radio deal out of this.

He is getting his wish. Instead of ignoring him, a band of reporters will be filming every second of the book-burning, after which they will rush out and ask every Muslim they can find, foreign and domestic, “What do you think about this!” The reporters will, of course, get various responses, ranging from the ‘Who cares what a nut does?” to “Kill all Americans!” Guess which responses will make it to our television screens?

Did it? The first crusade was a response to 300 years of islamic aggression. Look it up.

Yes, the crusades did some wrong--but not equal by any means. And it doesn't justify islam today.

The Crusades are just anather canard most liberals throw out there, even though they know nothing of the history except what they keep rgergitating to each other.
The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades). Everyone should read it.

I said in another thread he's just another attention-seeking Fred Phelps type, who's using the controversy to build up membership to his church (it has only 50 members now). The media is too acquiescent to obvious publicity stunts like this. He won't be burning any korans or bibles.

Planned Quran Burning Has Whiff Of 2009 Bible Stunt

Koran burning a distraction, says GOP leader Haley Barbour
Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour says he opposes a small Florida church's plan to burn copies of the Koran on the anniversary of 9/11. "I do not think well of the idea of burning anybody's Koran, Bible, Book of Mormon or anything else," says Barbour. "Any issue that takes people's eye off of unemployment, job creation, economic growth, taxes, spending, deficits, debts, is taking your eye off the ball."

You don't know that. You have no idea what his motivation is.
