I'm just curious to know if all the supporters of this lunacy would be so gung-ho if the local mosque had a Bible-burning day? If you truly support free speech, then this is no problem, right?
Right, I support the preacher 1000% and at the same time would have no problem with a mosque burning a bible if they chose to do so. I believe in and value freedom to the fullest. Unlike the PC left I am consistent.
Here's a major difference beteen bible and koran burning. Even the Christians who would be deeply offended at bibles being burned would NOT resort to violence.
I imagine the book burning is in retaliation to the MegaMosque, not sure. But is a hostile move, tit for tat. This group has the right to do so, but is not wise. Seems a foolish and radical move from a group of fundamentalists against other fundamentalists, what does it serve in the long run? Trying to make some statement we all know is clearly evident. We will have to deal with islam soon enough, this isn't the way.

What the hell is going on in Afghanistan? It sounds to me like Gen Petraeus is crying to his "mommy", President "Ourbomber," that the playground bullies are going to pick on his friends! We're at war over there, people! A war that is being prolonged by an inability to identify the enemy! Burn the dam books if it exposes the radical Islamics we are seeking to destroy! That's a good thing!....The kind of war strategy Gen.Petraeus is portraying President "Ourbomber" will replace the Korans with "NEW" ones, so not to offend our enemies, and put us further into debt! Right now we are at war with Al Quaeda and their supporters, the Taliban. This accounts for a fraction of a percentage point of the Islamic world community. Our military strategy is to win the hearts and minds of the Afghani and Pakistani population. Yes, you have the right to burn any book you choose but by burning the holy book of over a billion people you inflame and unite the people of the islamic faith against us. Is that really the direction we really want to go? It only takes a match to light the fuse to a world wide explosion. All for what? So some internet furniture salesman can express himself. The act of one can affect the futures of many. The Schoolyard shooting with an AK47 in California in the 80s changed the gun laws for everyone in Cal. for ever. The acts of a few evangelical christians can change the military course of the war for decades to come and diminish America's credibility worldwide, forever.

The guy has a right to do whatever he wants -- just as Jane Fonda aka Hanoi Jane did back during the Viet Nam war when she took it upon herself to interfere in war hostilities.
What she did wasn't wrong, what he wants to do isn't wrong. But one thing they both have in common is the sense of self importance and disrespect and disregard for the results of their actions.
