. I don't think it's a bad idea to ask restaurants to consider making healthier choices available. I don't think they should be forced to do that though.
But that is exactly what will happen 20 or 30 years down the road. If I suggested to someone 40 years ago that a private establishment like a bar would not be allowed to let people smoke that person would tell me I'm nuts.
What I need to invest in is some politicians that aren't going to punish me for the bad choices other people make.
It's loaded into processed foods, not just a matter of opting to shake on too much at dinner. Unless you dine only on the products of your own garden and orchard you're likely getting too much yourself, inadvertently. And restaurants oversalt as well, I guess because it represents "tasty".
I see what you mean, but just complaining and warning doesn't have any effect. It's not as if they're planning to ban meat.
Can't but incandescent light bulbs.
Can't buy the health insurance i want.
Can't get a college student loan from my bank
Can't follow the recipes to food my customers like to eat
Can't buy the automobile that i want
What else "can't" we do according to these progressives?
Where's the statute saying you can't buy incandescent light bulbs?
Where's the statute saying you can't buy the health insurance coverage you want?
The bank can still make you a loan to pay for college. They just can't do it with the government's guarantee that they'll pay back the bank if you won't. What's your complaint about that?

What car do you want to buy that you're not being allowed to, and why?

Don't buy those foods then, it's your choice and don't give me the line you can't avoid them.
No one is going to take salt, butter, cream or sugar off the market. I am not worried about it. I try to look for the good in things...when the government passes a law that prohibits restaurants from serving certain items, I'll revisit this topic. I will have to see it to believe it. Until then, I have no issue with the FLOTUS urging restaurants to serve healthier menu items. As for the FDA regulating the amount of salt that goes into prepared foods, I have no problem with it. If you want more, add more. Those of us who try to eat healthier should be able to eat out and eat prepared foods without the unnecessary added salt if we chose to. When this imaginary salt tax is implemented,I will revisit that topic as well. At this point, I have no reason to be disgruntled and upset every time the POTUS of FLOTUS open their mouths for any reason.

That's nothing. One poster got upset because he read an article that suggestsed not eating commercial beef due to the possibility of it being infected with E. Coli. He claimed that the government was stopping him from eating burgers, Yes, another rocket scientist. These people are repulsed by real information.
Oh I see just another bash Michelle thread.....enjoy.
Maybe she's the salt of the earth.
Lick me?
