Just a week ago, NBC affiliate KGW TV of Portland, Ore., reported that a remarkably upbeat and candid Storro sat in front of reporters at Legacy Emanuel Hospital and described how a woman threw acid on her face. She claimed her attacker said "Hey pretty girl, do you want to drink this?" before splashing the acid that burned her face.
Storro said she held the news conference then to draw attention to efforts to find the attacker, but also to talk about her faith.
"I'm here today because of Jesus Christ," she said at the time, adding that the strength of her faith would allow her to move forward.
This woman claimed to be a Christian yet she had no qualms about potentially taking away the freedom and liberties of a random "phantom" Black woman acid thrower.
As if black people never fabricate stories against whites.
Never, no, but in comparison...
Susan Smith, Ashely Todd, Charles Stuart, Bonnie Sweeten, and going as far back as Ruby Bates and Victoria Price, the charge can't be so lightly dismissed.
You ask what prompted this? I suggest a good part of it is the attention the Media heaps on all sorts of anti-social behavior. From the Salahis, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan on through to the nut-case, smirking US Airways flight attendant, it is covered nonstop and these people are handed roles in a Reality Series or book offers.
While she took a very extreme action to obtain this 'Fame', in my opinion she was following the self-destructive and Sociopathic examples of many, many others in our altered reality Society. Notice how Oprah was right there to actualize this bid for 'Celebrity'.
