it is precisely why the left is going after boehner. they want to destroy him before he can become speaker of the house. the left has attacked every republican speaker of the house since 1995, and now they are going after potential house speakers. if they can destroy boehner, then they in fact hurt all republicans in congress.

You know what, as a left-leaning moderate I DON'T CARE if John Boehner had an affair. How does extramarital affairs and other assorted personal weaknesses affect his ability to do his job? Same with Bill Clinton, Eliot Spitzer, and countless others who had extramarital affairs.

What's bad is they make it sound like a politician has an affair and it forces our taxes to go up (or insert other issue you don't agree with here).

It's funny that a blogger -- not the all powerful liberal media -- found this out, or at least was the only one to speak up about it.

If all the wicked Liberal media knew Boehner was having an affair, why didn't they speak up and sell some papers? Why did they let a kid scoop them?

If Boehner is having an affair, and if the WLM all know about it, wouldn't Fox know about it, too? Wouldn't... Drudge?

If he's NOT having an affair, why did Murdoch's paper the Post scream so loudly about the kid's question?

Do you like the press to keep secrets from you?

Yeah, it's to the right's credit that they've shown so much respect and dignity to Nancy Pelosi over the last 4 years.

clinton lied in court about his affair, and spitzer used public funds if i recall correctly, not sure about that one though.

I was just happy to see that he may have had an affair with an adult woman, vs. the underage boys so many of them have been caught with.

EDIT--I forgot. Should have added male/female prostitutes to the list

This is kinda like when the South Carolina Gov. was out hiking the Appalachian Trail. The righties were cursing the leftwing media for making a big deal out of it. We all know what happened next.

I get that logic, but I don't care if they take Boehner down and knock him out of the speaker slot. Maybe it's just me, but he doesn't come across as any kind of a heavyweight, rather more of a pompous blowhard. Do you feel motivated by anything he's ever said? He's no Gingrich, no leader of any revolution.

There are any number of other Republicans I would love to see in the speaker slot, that's why I'm surprised to see the MSM go at him so hard. If I was a liberal reporter for the NYT I would love him as speaker...he would be my favorite punching bag.
