Joe Barton received more contributions for the petroleum industry than anybody else in the House of Representatives. He apologized to them during the Congressional hearings for the BP oil spill, imagine what he is going to do for them NOW. The fix is in.
I guess you don't use gasoline? Barton's apology was over the top, but shutting down the gulf oil industry and throwing tens of thousands of jobs under the bus was not exactly brilliant policy either. The oil companies are not buying the government as much as paying protection money.
This issue is rampant on both sides, though. I mean, look the position of Treasury Secretary. Or biggest problem is that, Republican or Democrat, there are still way too many people beholden to corporate interests, which the Citizen's United ruling only exacerbates.
The audacity of any liberal pointing out any potential of corruption on the conservative side is unbelievable. Hypocrisy at its best. And not to mention.....SORE LOSERS!!

It's not near enough. Way too many incumbents survived, and career politicians are still dug in like ticks. Next round in two more years, clean out the whole festering pile!
