Joe Barton received more contributions for the petroleum industry than anybody else in the House of Representatives. He apologized to them during the Congressional hearings for the BP oil spill, imagine what he is going to do for them NOW. The fix is in.
I guess you don't use gasoline? Barton's apology was over the top, but shutting down the gulf oil industry and throwing tens of thousands of jobs under the bus was not exactly brilliant policy either. The oil companies are not buying the government as much as paying protection money.

On "their" watch?

Democrats still hold the Senate and the White House.

Democrats still are in control.

It is just a little more "fair and balanced" now.

This issue is rampant on both sides, though. I mean, look the position of Treasury Secretary. Or biggest problem is that, Republican or Democrat, there are still way too many people beholden to corporate interests, which the Citizen's United ruling only exacerbates.

IMHO Big Money has corrupted many members of the Democratic Party. Big Money OWNS the Republican Party.

I expect to retire in the next couple of years and I am wondering where I can go that is not ruled by the Haves and Have Mores.

It's not near enough. Way too many incumbents survived, and career politicians are still dug in like ticks. Next round in two more years, clean out the whole festering pile!

Cuba and North Korea both have overcome the terrible scourge of inequality of results.
