Your "if" is beyond anything real. As someone that has spend much time in war, taken lives, and witnessed disgusting human behavior numerous times, I know there is nothing remotely of that nature in my character.
If there was, I'd expect nothing less. But given the chance to execute that justice, I wouldn't hesitate. Even from within my own family. I suspect I'm a very different breed than you.

Sure you can, if you want to. In any relationship of any kind with any human being, a point comes where you must decide to love that person or not. That doesn't mean you must approve of all they do, just that you must decide to love them in spite of what they do or stop loving them because of it.
Sure you can. Most people do not recognize their sixth sense. Using only the five, binds them to earth.
Love and hate are human primary emotions. One opposite the other. A person can be angry and still not have hate as a primary emotion. What can one be, and not have love as a primary emotion?
Love as a primary emotion, will encompass many things and holds no boundaries. It can reach out to places that the person has never been.
Hate on the other hand is binding to the object of that which is hated. It stays home and festers resentment and lessens the ability and shadows that ability to find love.
Love does not bind to an object. Reject love, then the opposite of love emerges.
This country will soon have hate delivered to them, by means no one could ever fathom. It will be difficult to return and fire with love.
The opposite of love is not hate. It's selfishness.
