Not quite as spine-tingling as the mall version, but I got a kick out of this "Silent Monks" one:

My sister sent me this last week. Wouldn't you have just loved to be there when that occurred?

And who knew a food court had such great acoustics!

That one was great, too! I hate malls, but that makes me want to go, lol, hoping I'd see something like that.

Sometimes one musical moment can make the season. A couple of years ago when my daughter was in high school, I went to her church's youth group's Christmas pageant. This fourteen-year-old girl played Mary, and my daughter always told me that the girl had a great voice. Well, it came to the part where she sang "Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)" and it was just amazing. That was the moment that year.

Check out Flash mobs on Google and Random Act of Culture. There are some great performances, including the one at Macy's using the Wanamaker Organ... what a beast!.

Glee Seattle, Dutch train station , Ohio are pretty good... and of course the Random Acts of Culture.

I'm an avowed atheist and think it's fantastic. I love "sacred" music . Handel is always a treat. Beautiful music is beautiful music . I am glad some people are keeping up the traditional aspect of music and that choirs are still a vibrant part of many communities.

I have never understood people who object to sacred music because it is religious. We should all appreciate beauty whichever form it takes. Same goes for visual arts. Some of the most beautiful art in the world is of a religious nature. All this to me is part of the great human odyssey and I enjoy it all.

As long as proletyzing is not enforced upon me, bring it on I say ! I would love to have more music in public spaces and personally wish we had more pro-active singers !

Long may those flash-mobs live. A lovely uplifting piece of music.

I say the atheists can put up all the billboards they want. All of them pale in the face of this kind of spirit.

Very powerful and beautiful. Loved the children's faces! Thanks for posting, Sanrene.
