Nothing has been said yet about extending the benefits beyond 99 weeks (might be part of it, but no word on that yet). What it is, is giving those who were capped at different tier levels (26 weeks, 46 weeks, 60 weeks, 73 weeks) an extension.
i was watching msnbc and a guy quickly made a comment how the 99ers wont be helped here
how about people like me who graduated from college in 2008 and have had to move back in with their parents and be tortured by a complete lack of independence AND having worked their ass off for all of this time to try to get a job but to no avail, WHO ARE NOT RECEIVING UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS?!?!?!
they gotta suck it up like us self employed and contract workers. We were forgotten. even though it's all fed 'our' money paying for it now,we get nadda

Your current tax rate will stay the same, that's something.
And then you might get in on the 2% payroll tax holiday.
Seems obama gave a lot away for UE benefits extension.
Bush tax rates remain the same, estate tax of 35% instead of 50%, payroll tax cut.
My son will never go back to work. Well thanks for letting him stay home for another year. He won't accept a job that pays less than unemployment pays and why should anyone.
Because it can open other doors that sitting at home won't. It is often the little things like this that divide the successful and those who never get anywhere.

Sorry to hear about your situation, but you first have to be employed in order to be, now, unemployed.
It makes even less sense in print than it did when I was thinking about it.

hey I'm broke. did a furniture repair job 3 weeks ago and made 80$ wow. It led to 3 referrals that made me over 3800$. gotta stay out there or you will be forgotten quickly. those referrals will lead to other referrals as I do quality work even if I have to loose some money
That about sums it up for me. +1. Getting paid for 3 years to sit on you azz. Only in America.
It doesn't ADD to the length of the extensions - just extends the DEADLINES for the current extensions...........if you're going to post at least have the right info to sneer at
