The promise was to cut 100B in spending, and the goal has already been reduced to 50B, and they have been in power only hour.

And it just happens to be THE #1 PROMISE that got them voted in.

Republicans take over House, dilute cuts | Reuters

Republicans scaled back plans for deep cuts in government spending as they took power in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, diluting a key promise that helped them to victory in November's election.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...

So immediately from $100 billion to $50 to less than that:

"The actual cuts put forward could be "substantially less" than $50 billion, a House Republican aide said, because the fiscal year will be halfway through by the time Republicans get a chance to affect spending."

Right, because none of them knew before today how the fiscal year works?

The Republicans are just a slower slide into oblivion.

That's. Awesome.

Oh well. Business as usual, really. Ever since Elementary School, people going for votes making promises they can't keep. "No more homework during breaks." "More junk food in the cafeteria." The usual.

Somehow they were able to fool the voters to vote for them, but the GOP didn't wait long to show their old colors.

I admit that I was one of those people who were fooled into voting for them.

Sorry to hear that, but you'll know better for the future
It's pretty obvious the republicans don't give a damn about the people, lowering the deficit or to cut spending, actually the complete opposite. They just keep feeding the lies to get votes and the ignorant continue to fall for it.

Republicans doing what they usually do, what a smack in the face!

Well, they pimped the "Tea Partiers" & naive voters to get their foot in the door. Now that they're in the office, their showing their true colors.

If some folks don't wake up & smell the coffee, instead of the "Tea", they'll be pimped again in 2012!

I can't help but wonder just how many times true conservatives will fall for the GOP's lies. This has been going on since 1980 and they're STILL believing it!

What will it take?
