You have to be kidding it takes two hours for any Law Enforcement to get here.And alot can happen in that amount of time.

Me I pack .357 and .22 all the time plus 12Ga. handy.If anyone comes up my road they better have a very Good reason.

I actually watched the Dateline (or whatever show it was) episode on that story, and there was a LOT more to it. And if memory serves, the doctor had a gun in his home which did no good... since the attackers got him while he napped in the sunroom, and the rest of his family was asleep in bed. Absolutely awful story, but his gun did nothing to help - and I don't fully blame the cops either, after seeing how the whole thing went down.

my wife and I both sleep with a holstered pistol under our pillows, and when I nap i still have a pistol on my hip as well.

Ouch... LOL.

Not everyone does that, however, and some people sleep pretty heavy! My point being that you can't blame the cops, or the lack of firearms, in that particular story.
