Great example of a right wing urban myth in action.

There is no tax scenario in the USA, in any State, where this statement could be true. Not even close.

Not one iota of truth in it........The types of people that believe the B.S are the same exact people who fall for right wing propaganda.
oh bs...anyone who has ever worked overtime understands...anything more than 12 hours of overtime kills you in the taxes....

PS...unless they pay the overtime in a separate check

Wow. Someone is a good little Beck and Limbaugh ditto-head. No thinking required, just repeat what your masters tell you.
Don't listen to either, but your childish rants and insults make them look like pros .

I said net drain on the economy. Please explain what those professions produce.

It's amazing how our tax code works.

Get rid of the IRS, that would save $16 Trillion Dollars over 1 Million Years.

Taxing consumption, not income, would raise another $100 Trillion over 1 Million years.

Low earners will still be around 1 million years from now and so will the wealthy.

It will be Utopia.

The problem is the definition of "rich." When politicians start making tax policy, "rich" means anyone who works, particularly 2-income families. Our federal tax policy taxes income--and taxes most heavily the income earned by working.

Those who are actually rich DON'T HAVE TO WORK to survive--think Paris Hilton and how she acted on "The Simple Life" when shown what it was like to work for just a day--let alone 80 hours a week, 50 weeks out of the year. But politicians don't tax the truly wealthy, since those are people who own them. Instead, our tax policy punishes and takes the most from those who work the most. And of course it rewards those who don't work. The very wealthy and the very poor love this system. The working Middle Class get robbed blind by it, but apparently they don't get to "stick up for their families" because it is Politically Correct to want to tax the "rich."

Those of us who got advanced educations and sacrificed all the best years of our lives to work insane hours are a far cry from the Paris Hiltons of this world, who never worked a day in their lives and will never have to worry about making ends meet.

Too bad so many people fall for the Medias' and the politicians' ploy of using the resentment of the really rich to rob the working Middle Class.

Perhaps, but if we consider all taxes - corporate, excise, social insurance, income - the top 10% are still paying 55%.

If we expand to the top 20% of income earners, they are responsible for 70% of all federal tax liabilities. 86% of all income taxes, 42% of social insurance taxes, 87% of corporate taxes, and 34% of excise taxes.

Interesting data, but only through 2007:

Congressional Budget Office - Distribution of Federal Taxes (http://www.cbo.gov/publications/collections/collections.cfm?collect=13 - broken link)

No teachers, no other professions. No police officers, no stable society.

Please tell me you really are not this ignorant. I would actually feel bad.
