Thye are just seeig whatthe economy is really like since thestimulus that shielded them in publc sector is gone and Obama can feed them more on the chinese credit card.
Democracy is in trouble once the public sector begins to portray itself as oppressed.
Other than astronomical salaries, automatic COLAs, lavish benefits, early retirement, and an apparently boundless sense of entitlement, there is little to distinguish the average public employee from the sufferng, huddled masses of Somalia or Chad...
If they don't like it tough.....taxpayers are sick of the inflated pensions and HC - and taxes. State and local govt need the ability things without collective bargaining. I would hope people by now could negotiate their own salary without the hand holding of a union...if you bring value you will do well, if you are a below sub par perfomer, too bad.....if they strike, fire them...
I really hope that Kasich takes a stand against the union thugs. I stepped out voting for him (was going to vote for the Libertarian) and want to see Ohio get on the right track fiscally again.
Now don't get me wrong on teachers and public employees like police and fire. I appreciate what the good ones do. But Ohio has a monster budget problem and all they are worried about is benefits and collective bargaining? When they move from being public servants to selfish leeches, my sympathy goes away. People everywhere are hurting and the unions somehow seem to think that they should all be exempt from the reality that is economic downturn and fiscal crisis.
