The Nazi phenomena is a perfect example of how when a large group of people start doing something insane, how it can influence others to do the same thing in order to "belong" or not disrupt the group. It was simply on a massive scale.
How about the one where they took a group of college students, some who were friends, and made some inmates, and others correction officers. When one of the correction officers started being violent, they all did it. It quickly became an us vs. them mentality.
Like I said, just examples of how when the group does one thing, the individual usually follows. It may have been that two or three of these boys were really "in charge" and the rest simply went along. I'm not saying they don't need to be locked up, they do most definitely, but there is more there than "string them up"
The nazi's are a lousy example. They were a political vehicle for a meglomaniac. These are simply human beings badly raised and without supervision.
When was the last time you ever heard of the amish gangraping children? They are the perfect antithesis of our young men here. The amish come from intact families, have a set of clearly defined cultural norms, are closely supervised, and have nothing to do with today's drug culture.
We don't know anything about these rapists but a quarter will get you a dollar they are; from broken homes, have no father figure at home, are dropouts, have little to no supervision, are engaged in drug and alcohol abuse.
It's a matter of culture. Some children in american are lucky enough to belong to a functioning culture while others........do not.
Now you're going to upset the foggy applecart of the posters in CD who insisted stuff like that happens ONLY in "uncivilized" countries like Egypt.
Well, in the multicultural hell that is the present state of the us we have plenty of cultures/sub-cultures that produce lots of individuals such as these men, obviously.
That's not what I'm saying. I just don't personally think they should recieve as stiff a penalty as grown men. The two oldest suspects were 25 and 27, I believe. A teenage boy shouldn't receive the same punishment as a man in his late twenties, in my opinion.
Considering the nature of he crime and the propensity of people to continue doing what they are allowed to "get away" with, I'd say the people deserve to be protected from these "boys" for a long, long, time.
You'd be surprised what the heard can get you to do. You should really look at some of the research done on this subject.
The Nazi's are a perfect example. An entire country, and many of them knew what was happening to the Jews, most folks went along with it. There are a few shining examples, but its about 10% of the population who is really capable of making up their own minds and don't care what others say.
Most of them we consider insane, because they don't fit well into society.
Like I said, I'm not justifying what these boys did, I'm just trying to cast some light on the workings of their mental ability at the time. Its not always that they were sex crazed idiots that need to be castrated or killed.
According to your statements people are either incapable of making independent decisions or are considered insane.
Sorry, what those MEN did to that little girl was horrific and they should be removed from society. Sick.
You say this as if a lack of respect for women in the black community is a universal thing. And where are your sources for this?
When are people going to realize that criminal thugs are not the representatives of the black community? Maybe take the time to get to know some actual black people, rather than just judge us by those you see on the evening news . Race has absolutely nothing to do with this.
