1A to 8-B is not years 1-4, its based off how many years experience someone has teaching. The B is for half a year. For example someone at 8A has 7 years, 8B, 7.5 years. The very top of page one points out what you need to have the starting salary of $74,796, notice the 7.5 years....

Hell it even says that.. the title of the collumn is DESIGNATION, the rows are even classified BY YEARS..
Ahh no.. starting teachers salary of $45,530 would be WITHOUT a license.. or no teaching experience.. bachelor's degree, with a masters + 30 credits (equates to 7.5 years is $74,796) but thats with no work experience or any specialization.. AGAIN go down to the bottom, line 7B, 8A, 8B and you will see they all approach the $70K range, especially if you add in the extras that my buddy does.. He specializes in history, so scroll down.. Is this that tough?
Yes and in order to get to 7a you need six years of prior experience, 7B six and a half years, 8A, 7 years, 8B 7.5 years. My cousin taught in Queens (she now teaches on Long Island)

Its 5 years in the NYC school system to get to 5 long. Those with no previous teaching experience have a stating salary that is based on how much education they have, which ranges from a base of $45,530 for someone with a bachelor's to $57,320 for someone with a bachelor's masters and 30 additional credits (1A). The other columns below 1a (1B, 2A down to 8B) are based off how much prior experience a starting NYC teacher has up to 7.5 years
Basically teachers have been shielded from the recessio by the timulus for wo years. Now that the deficit partly from that source they are whining.Its just like every other public empoloyeee and nothig else when it gets to thsi level of defcit spending. They in fact are not at the top of the priority when it comes to governamnt spneding for necessities and consume way too much for results. That si their main problems ;they can't justify the spending increrase by results.

The INCREMENTS hit at year 5..We arent discussing the increments.. we are discussing PAY BEFORE year 5.. again, go to BEFORE YEAR 5, and look at the salary ranges.. YES THERE are NUMEROUS salaries in the $70K range,
its not rocket science.. again go to row 7B, 8A, 8B and tell me what salaries you see? These are for people BEFORE they hit the 5 year increment

WTH do you think "qualifying prior professional experience" means?? I'll tell you. It means if a teacher comes in with any non-public school teaching experience, the district will evaluate it and determine if it QUALIFIES for salary credit. Teachers who come in from other public school districts automatically get the salary credit.
