IMHO, China's economic, political and military foreign policy has made it much more respected than the U.S. and also fosters more international business, cooperation and international friendships than United States.

Omigod, you may not manage to have the Hispanics take this country over soon enough and they will have to live under second class status. Is there a way that more illegals could stream over the border so they can force amnesty before it is too late?

Unfortunately for us, China. That margin is growing every day.

ETA: the reason why they would be more respected is not because of their terrible human rights record. It is because they are making strides to improve this (slowly but surely), and already have a respectable record of not being the world police.

Go to China and commit some awful crime like challenging the state.

See how fast they try, convict, and execute your with a bullet to the back of the head, or a trip to their traveling death bus.

Then the question of respect will not really matter to you anyways.

I will go with the U.S., problems and all.

I don't know does having children work in your sweat shop factories gain you admiration and respect world wide?
And shame on those people who buy cheaper Chinese goods just to save a buck or two.

Give me a break and don't start with the Chinese sweat shop crap! The U.S. buys more Chinese goods, made by kids in sweat shops than you can shake a stick at.

Exactly. Plus we have more people imprisoned in the US despite China having 3x-4x the population.
