I don't like this rule and think it's highly unethical. Basically if an employer and a union have a disagreement, they want the workers to continue working at the benefit of the employer. What incentive does this give the employer to actually continue to negotiate and meet the union halfway if a union cannot go on strike?
That is the way it is in most states with public employeees to keep the governamnt wrorking and providing services. FDR was against public unions altogether.Public employees know the terms when they hire on and have mnay protections not avilable to private employeees already such as civil service .
There are also state and federal laws in place to protect workers. OSHA is an example. Since they already take an atrocious amount of my paycheck in the form of taxes, I sure as hec don't need more takin by some "union" with its top heavy brass...
Thats fine if you only work somewhere that the most hazardous injury you incur is a broken nail from typing or a paper cut.
huh...2.1 billion company i work for does around 45-50 billion, using union hands to do the work, but then again, its a company that plays in big boys world, and they know hiring the best trained, skilled and ruthless workers makes them that cash, but hey i'll pass this on to the office folks and maybe, just maybe they'll want to get rid of the union hands so they can make that whole 2.1 billion your workers chalk up.
There's only 37 of us in the whole company and we market to and serve a very very small, specialty customer base... we have 83% market share in the United States and a little higher in Canada. We are by far the best trained and highest skilled people in the industry doing this and none of us are or would ever consider dealing with a labor union or it's sub par members.
We routinely do work where we're forced to employ union labor which we just pass on to the customer. We're very clear with the union trash up front that they will be sitting and watch us work which they never argue with because none of them are smart enough to even understand what we're doing and sitting around doing nothing all day is on par with a typical union member's work day anyway.
The company has been around for 16 years now, I've been with them for 8 of those years and to this day we haven't had a single day lost due to a work site accident nor has anyone ever been injured at work... ever. We have had a couple union guys fall off a ladder while watching us but that's to be expected given the low level of education those guys typically have.

Sounds to me like you couldn't make it in the union there fella,i hear a lot of animosity,oh and the educated thing,i hold 2 different degree's had some work published, and i work with a few hands that also hold degree's,so that arguement is out the window bub, like i said, funny how jealousy rears its head and makes you show your true colors, funny.

It's all about the entitlement mentality that infests the leftist mind. Weaklings. That's what I think about Union member's. Absolute weaklings who need a union thug to hold their hand in order to be successful.
Sure, let strikers families have foodstamps while the breadwinner is on strike. Just as long as they pay the benefits back once they return to work.
