Why? If the unions are collecting dues and the unions are calling the strike let the UNION feed their members and families during a strike. What happened to all that solidarity talk? It's a union after all, take care of your own people.

I don't approve of public labor unions and I despise the destruction they cause, you support labor unions a majority of the time and this is a thread about ending the destruction of labor unions therefore unless you change your mind there's really nothing you could say that's going to matter to me.

Really, your opinions on unions matter naught to me. You are entitled to them. I am just surprised, with your level of education, that you have had to resort to slander, hatred, and confusion instead of logic, clarity and facts in writing your posts to present your case against them.

I'm worth alot more than some of the uneducated, brain cell challenged union members I've come across in my life.
I make my living (and a pretty good one at that) based upon MY education and MY own worth, not what some union hack has managed to strong arm an employer into paying me, whether I'm worth it or not. When I get a raise it isn't because my employer is being forced into it, it's because I deserve it.

You're trying to re-write history. Labor unions were created to get employers to treat all workers the same. Having a pay structure that paid according to nationality and color was not fair for anyone.
As for the OP topic: Whether or not you quality to get food stamps to feed your family should in no way be tied to your political beliefs and your rights to free speech. That's a dangerous precedence to set for any social or federal program. What next? You can't vote if you don't vote for a certain party?
