In spite of being located no less than 93 million miles away from Earth, the Sun appears to be influencing the decay of radioactive elements inside research labs on the planet.
The conclusion belongs to a new investigation, which was carried out by experts at the Purdue University and the Stanford University.
Think of all the things that have been carbon-14 dated and may be way wrong.
The article states that it 'seems' to influence radioactive decay, and that they still need to thoroughly test things. Your thread title states that carbon-14 dating is completely wrong. Super misleading to say the least.

Then it's true, the earth is only 6,000 years old!

Wow! Interesting implications. Thanks for posting.
Slightly faster decay rates one season, slightly slower the next season. Over the course of a year the decay rates average to the same rate. You are talking about such slight variations people could only detect the differences using the most precise atomic clocks in some of the top labs in the world.
Saying this invalidates carbon dating is like saying the idea that the Earth revolving around the sun is wrong, because it's not 93 million miles to the sun...it's 93 million miles and 3 inches. Anyone who believes this invalidates all carbon dating should get a large physics book upside the head.
Sounds like the Shroud of Turin gets a new lease on life. Carbon 14 was their "proof" that the shroud couldn't be Jesus' burial cloth. Those infalliable, God-less scientists may be forced to reconcile that Jesus himself was real afterall. I look forward to progress in this area of science.
