Why should they? Maybe then can set an example of what they are always preaching about...staying off the government teat.
But, no...they can armchair quarterback and judge from their high horses when it's SOMEONE ELSE who needs assistance, but when it hits them, THEY consider themselves to be SPECIAL.
Now's the perfect time to put their money where their mouths are, or shut up about government 'hand-outs'.
You are definitely a real piece of!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea what those people went through and have absolutely nothing left other than debris! You are a shame on our nation.imo

How does this address the fact that their money has already been taken from them to provide for such relief?
Many do just pick up the pieces, but the media likes to focus on what a saviour the federal government is (cough cough)
I'd opt out of such government run schemes as would many others and would never ask for a dime.

obviously, the question was asked so if a statement was made it could be picked apart and if a statement wasn't made they could start a whole thread on how a statement wasn't made.

Let's see here: You whole neighborhood gone some of your family is dead and you have lost almost every possession you own what you still own is sitting out in the rain and you have no way yourself to protect it and most everyone around you is pretty much still in a daze, you have no food or water and have been up for about 24 hrs.
Are you still saying that you will opt out to take NOTHING at all? Remember you opted out and have not paid anything so you don't deserve anything at all. YOU SIR DON'T FACE REALITY!

Very weak come-back on your part.
Blame the media??? Huh???
Those who lost everything have every right to seek and accept government assistance. However, they should not be so hypocritical and look down on others who may also need government assistance.
Obama is supposed to walk through the affected area Sunday and most of wish he would just stay away since it is nothing but a photo op anyway. We have work to do and don't need the problems that arise when any President decides to have their photo ops at some disaster.
That's a really short-sighted attitude. Any time a president visits a disaster area it refocuses the news cycle on the needs of the area. Then donations and offers of help from corporations keeps coming in to the Red Cross and others groups helping out. Call it a photo op all you want but sometimes those photo ops have a valid and worthwhile purpose.

I could care less what you think of my posts.
I also didn't "blame" the media for people wanting their own money back.

Please cut her some slack. She lost a cousin in the tornado.
