I'm convinced all of these male politicians are sexually repressed. Maybe they should all have a annual weekend at the bunny ranch in Nevada. This way they will get this rock start sex need out of the way. My goodness Lawd. smdh..
Do you think they would keep to just one weekend per year? The narcisist would come out and compartmentalize why going every 3 months, no- every other mon.... twice a month, yea that's the ticket, is okay
The politicians are all about the politicians, let's face it.
He admitted he didn't know the ages of anyone he shared his pics with.
And his lies about it were more extensive than just "to a reporter."
Not that the lying part is illegal (slimy and jerky, but you can't legislate class and proper decorum). But not knowing if the pics went to a 26-yr-old fame***** or a 13-yr-old girl, well you can figure this out for yourself.
I hope.
He phrased it really badly, but it seemed to me what he meant was "Everybody told me they were at least 18," or "Everybody's profile said they were at least 18." I think what he meant was that it was possible they were lying, not that he was trying to find underage women.
Did anyone catch that while he was "being honest" he insinuated the women could have lied about their ages. He said he didn't know their ages and only what they put on their accounts. Nothing like balancing ones lies with insinuations that everyone else probably did too. Is this guy a Representative or a twelve year old?
Way to come clean Weiner
Of course Clinton asked Lewinsky if she was 21 before he had sex with her. It's a good thing she wasn't lying!
[MOD CUT]
Hard to understand, isn't it, why high profile guys don't learn that sex scandals like this have the capacity to ruin their careers. I don't think it will in Weiner's case though. If Newt and Clinton can outrun their scandals, so can Weiner and they both took part in far worse behavior. It's usually the so-so, no personality politicians who don't weather the storm.
This is where I'm coming from too. Lying was his biggest sin here. And I feel badly for his family but I'm too old to be shocked by anyone's sex scandal, especially when they happen in political circles and with religious leaders like Jim Bakker and Ted Haggard. I also believe in the adage that those without sin should throw the first stone which is why I didn't pile on to the 'guilty as charged bandwagon' without clear proof. We have that proof now with his confession. I'm disappointed in him. But at the end of the day, if the people in his district thought he was doing a good job for them before this all came out, then there is no reason to believe he still can't continue to do a good job for them.
Respectfully disagree with your last post to a degree. I think there should be higher ethical standards for politicians. I respect the voters of his district, however, I think he should resign and not even make it to a vote. His decisions and judgement impact all of us. Resignation or forced resignation shows again this behavior won't be tolerated.

Its truely pathetic, you could tell the man was lying. "my computer was hacked" Give me a break, just come out and say you made a freakin mistake. Sorry guys your gonna hate me for saying this but....Typical man....Caught red handed and the best he could come up with is a BS LIE...
Engaging in this behavior after he was married was his biggest sin. He gave himself an erection, took a photograph of it and intended to send it to a young college woman (though it never got to her directly because he accidentally posted it publicly instead). And it wasn't a one-time thing. He was stripping down and fondling himself, photographing it and sending these explicit images to women who were not his wife. Before he was married? Who cares. "Sext" all you want. But after taking those vows before G-d? He'd be out on his @ss so fast if he were my husband it would make his head spin.

I'm not shocked in the least. Especially when you're a geeky Jewish boy who probably couldn't get a date in your entire high school career, the fawning and adulation by young women can be a very heady and enticing thing. I'm not at all surprised he let himself get caught up in it. There's an element of excitement in it that cannot be denied.
But then he got married and agreed to "forsake all others". When you get married you give up every sexual "relationship" you have with every woman you engaged in those relationships with who aren't your wife. He said his vows and kept right on stroking his schlong for other women online. Nasty.
And I think his constituents will ultimately agree. There are state-level Democrats in his District who will gladly run against him in the next Primary and they will use this indiscretion to discredit his truthfulness. And whoever it is, if they are scandal-free, they will win.
Both are non issues to be sorted out by the families of those people.
No taxpayer money was used to finance it, no lying under oath, no other crimes proven....non-issue.
Sadly, you are short sighted and fail to see the implications of accepting this behavior from a high ranking politician. If Frank had been booted back in 92' we probably wouldn't have had such fiscal insanity.
When we allow bad behavior to replace moral responsibility, we are lost as a nation.
Weiner is a weinie and a stupid jerk and an idiot....and I am a Liberal.
Now, when the next Republican has HIS pants down(and it will happen), let's see how many Repugs post condeming him.....
You are kidding right? Did you by chance read Arnold's thread that was going on? Why are liberals so blind? NO ONE MAKES EXCUSES FOR THIS-it's disgusting and he should resign-anyone should resign when they are caught doing this crap-why should he resign-because the TAXPAYERS pay for his travel his phone...and his BS!!!
