But it's ok since they are boots of love.

You must be mistaken, those are NATO boots with US soldier feet in them, HUGE difference.

For background on the issue, the UN authorized countries to use force to save the lives of civilians. Nato stepped in here led largely by France. The US is participating in a limited role where civilian lives are at risk and are providing largely logistical support (refueling, jamming telecommunications and also some military combat flights). The US was heavily involved at first to create a safe flight zone. The bulk of the actual bombing has is being carried out by European NATO countries
Robert Gates was George HW Bush's head of the CIA and was appointed by W (with his nomination passing 95-2) as the Secretary of Defense. The US Air Force's webpage quotes him here as saying, "Our goal right now (in Libya) is actually very limited," he added. "It is basically a support role."

Gates stresses U.S. support role in Libya

Also, recent Republican presidential nominee and war hero John McCain said that the United States is only taking a back seat role in the operations in Libya.

Knowing this, if you still insist on saying that the United States is at war with Libya, then you are calling two decorated former US military officers (one of them being a former POW) liars. If you're doing that, shame on you.
Hard to believe the level of utter stupidity in declaring that we are in a third war with Libya, when it has been made clear by this President that the US is supporting NATO. Just a part of the ongoing but futile effort by the hapless GOP to try to bring this great president down to the level of their village idiot Bush.

Bush lied to engage this country in two wars, and certainly was aiming to engage other foreign nations had time permitted. Warmongering and Neanderthal diplomacy while ignoring the domestic agenda except those elements that supported the most privileged.

We are at war in Libya, a retarded chimp would still be smart enough to realize we are at war in Libya.

Salon is a right wing blog? Sure.

And your definition of "not illegal".....means if the government is doing it...it's legal.......Awesome.

Congress hasn't impeached him because most right wingers are OK with using force for a "good purpose", not just self defense.

You are just now discovering that Congress doesn't fulfill it's obligation to oversee the Executive Branch?

And tolerating law breaking is standard practice among elites?

They do know. They don't care. They know half of voters will side with them regardless of their law breaking.

That's quite a precedent that's being set. The UN gets to decide whether your government can stand or fall?
