I have SEEN with my own two eyes the quality of "education" that children are receiving these days. It is abominable.

Most likely the test for being "environmentally literate" will be the ability to pick out a picture of a tree.

The right's upset about children learning a beneficial science, while at the same time claiming that reciting the pledge of allegiance every morning like German drones should be mandatory. Please. There's nothing political about science. Science only concerns itself with facts. The oil companies, their lobbyist, the politicians taking their donations and gullible voters have turned this particular science into something political.

If I was Maryland, I'd worry more about the literate part of "environmentally literate."

How about we invest in our schools and focus on actually educating our children.

If you want to see indoctrination, go to catholic school or better yet watch "jesus camp"

Just another unfunded mandate from MSDE. To a group of school systems that this year had to cut 1000's of teaching positions, dozens of administrative positions and 1000's of support staff (janitors, maintenance, etc.).

That's not true at all. Science has many many facets that are not fact based. Facts can be proven. A lot of science cannot be proven.

The problem becomes they will be getting a one sided story, an "Inconvenient Truth" has more holes in it than a piece of Swiss cheese yet students are shown this film as educational material.

If it can't be backed by evidence, it aint science. See religion for example.

You obviously have no idea what science is.
