Ive lived in Texas, and almost everyone I met hates Perry with a passion, but some people are obviously voting for him. He is such a terrible and corrupt governor.

Pretty much this. All (D)'s and (R)'s aside, this is just something that needs to NOT be in politics.

And if anyone believes so, they are apart of this mess of a problem.

There is a terribly entrenched political machine here, far worse than Chicago, that ensures no credible candidate runs against Perry.

I don't see it that way.

He's obviously winning because he's competent and knows what he's doing. That's great. But do i trust him on the national stage? Uh...nope.

He runs a tight ship as a Governor and isn't afraid to use the veto pen and tick off people.

But as President..no, I don't think so.

When Kay "Bailout" came to Texas she didn't think we'd remember that she voted FOR TARP. And she wanted to take all that stimulus money with strings attached that Perry said no to (UE for p/t workers and the extra education money).

She might have been Republican but you could tell that DC got to her and changed her. And we sent her back to DC with her tail between her legs.
And now she's retiring.
