But the law is quite irrefutable. No matter what we were led to believe, the government "owes" us nothing beyond helping to secure rights - and even that may be waived by consent.

The apathy and ignorance of the American people regarding their law and history can be partially explained as the consequence of the world's greatest propaganda ministry.

All I can say is - go read the law for yourself. Ask your "public servants" to explain themselves. If enough of us do that, we may yet move the immovable and change the unchangeable.

I wouldn't call Social Security a big lie. I would say that it's been abused many times over consumers and more so from the politicians taking money from it to plug up problems.

Perhaps it might be a good idea for you to take a deep breath and find something in your life to enjoy for awhile, because you seem a bit over-heated on this topic.

Social security has been a viable, sustainable program to provide security for millions of Americans since its inception. While the program has always had its detractors, none of them seem to ever have another solution to what to do with our Nation's poor that are left behind in our capitalist society.

Reality is that not everyone has the same opportunities in their lifetime as those that are successful. For many reasons, whether stemmed in personal, economic, or social capacities they just cannot make the cut across the barriers that capitalism mounts. As a humane society for OUR well-being as well as theirs, it is imperative that we make sure all members of our society are sustained a baseline level necessary for life: food, shelter, and wellness.

Prior to Social Security, which is NOT socialist, not only were our poor suffering and dying miserable deaths, but they created other greater burdens to others.

If you are fighting this program, do everyone a favor and describe in full exactly what you propose to replace it.

If you were born 1943 to 1954 the age for full benefits is 66

If you were born 1960 or later the age for full benefits is 67

You can still apply for benefits at age 62 but the benefit amount is drastically reduced.
When politicians talk about increasing the retirement age, they say 'increase the age', you never hear them say 'increase the age to 68 or 69'
SSA.gov

Those born between '55-'59? 66 1/2?, nothing, double benefits or just ignored?

Anyone know or is 1943- 1954 supposed to be 1943- 1959?

Here is my question; how can the mess be fixed fix that our politicians have put social security through over the past 30 or so years? They still owe people a great deal of money from all that borrowing.
