Me thinks it won't, which means its wasteful.

I understand the thinking, give all women birth control to lower the need to pay for assistance to help parents with their childrens needs, but this is ridiculous.
Why don't you think it will decrease unintended pregnancies??

It doesn't make sense. Most people below the poverty line already get almost free birth control from the health department.

I could change my mind, but I'd need real numbers to prove it. People are going to have sex, I don't know anyone who isn't taking birth control because they can't afford it. I know a lot of folks who don't take it because they are lazy.

That is not true. Many poor people don't have access to free birth control. Some clinics give it out for free but it is not widespread.

Yeah,

When I was living on less then 20,000 a year, my SO got free birth control. Well it wasn't free, it was 10 dollars a month. But most folks can afford that.

Where did your significant other get the $10 birth control?? A clinic, a hospital?? And what city?? The price varies from town to town.

City health department in Kentucky. She continued that when we moved to Michigan. Then my benefits kicked in and we paid our own way.

My sister gets free birth control, and she doesn't even date, and makes less then 10G's a year.

I have cousins who do the same. All very poor, making less then 40,000 a year.

Birth control is almost free to anyone who wants it.

HAHA..I agree!! I ddin't know there was a country wide price of 9 or 10 dollars. I'm still confused on how all these same people are crying about birth control but they were toally fine with their tax dollars helping build Iraq's economy. I would rather have my tax dollars go to healthcare then helping a middle eastern country have a huge surplus so they can 10 years down the line attack us. At least I know a women on birth control isn't going to creat a terrost group and bomb my country!!

Woo now, I was never fine with spending money in Iraq. But I don't like the government mandating that everyone get free birth control when its already affordable or free to most people.
