Disgusting governmental invasion of privacy. A step backwards towards treating women as chattel again.
A step backwards ? I'd say it's logic finally coming home.
A parent should be involved and responsible for their minor children and know what's going on in their lives.
Minors are the responsibility of parents, not "the state".

If parents were involved and responsible.....minors wouldn't have a need to seek out abortions, would they?
Nice how parents always want to step up after the fact.
Well a parent cannot be with a teen 24/7.
But if that teen got pregnant then the parents have a right to know.
As it is today a parent may never know if or how many abortions their daughter had.
If the parent did have to consent then maybe, just maybe, that parent would do something to help their daughter prevent future pregnancies/abortions.
it might turn out fine with parents who try to be helpful and are able to keep a level head about them when they find out their 14, 15, or 16 year old is pregnant. however some parents can't be level headed and kick them out on the streets for getting pregnant. parental permission is a double edge sword. some parents would coerce their child into their choice, be it abortion or birth, making it an "order" rather than a joint decision.
as was pointed out this just makes it harder for women to get the services they need when they need it.
Thanks to a comprehensive pro-life law a court recently upheld, the Planned Parenthood abortion business will be stopping abortion at seven locations throughout the state, the abortion agency announced today.
...
The law is a pro-life measure Governor Jan Brewer signed which tells women of the risks associated with and alternatives to abortion. Planned Parenthood sued the state soon after its signing and a Superior Court judge blocked the law from taking effect while the case moves forward.
The law will now go into effect and it makes it so Arizona will require a notarized parental signature before an abortion can be performed on a minor child, women will be provided with full and accurate information by a doctor in person at least 24 hours before an abortion, medical professionals cannot be forced to perform abortions if it contradicts their sincerely held religious or moral beliefs and non-doctors will not be permitted by law to perform surgical abortions.
It was a 3-0 decision from the court.
Good news for sure.
So, are you also a staunch supporter of increasing taxes to fund the social and welfare programs needed to take care of those unwanted children born to poor mothers?
Notarized signature of parent? Well, I'm sure the traditional judicial bypass is included (otherwise the SCOTUS has found such provisions unconstitutional), so...
Liberals want unrestricted access to abortions. It doesn't matter if a person wants one abortion or 12 abortions, it simply does not matter. All they are concerned with is the ability to do it unrestricted.
If liberals put as much energy into promoting personal responsibility as promoting unrestricted access to abortion, then they may have some credibility in the matter. But they've shown us repeatedly that they are not interested in front-side personal responsiblity....only personal responsibility after the fact via unfettered access to as many abortions as one pleases.
I find this to be despicable....an ideology of utter disgust.

Personal responsibility, what, you mean like learning about sex and having access to contraceptives?
Yeah, we try, but for some reason, conservatives don't like it.

So does this mean Obama is going to sue Arizona, again? Or report them to the UN?
I heart Governor Brewer!

What type of genius does it take to keep your legs closed and/or your dick in your pants? I don't recall ever receiving training on this. It's just the normal thing to do if you can't support a child. But for some reason the ignorant amongst us have trouble understanding this most basic concept.
There's nothing hard about acting responsible, but yet leftist ideologues would have you believe that that if its not taught to a person directly, then we should expect personal irresponsibility.
Disgusting bottom feeder ideology is what you folks promote. How do you live with yourself?
