Well, if the private sector would do some hiring, we wouldn't have long lines for govt. handouts.
So now its not only my fault, but now my obligation, to hire people to do nothing? What exactly would you like me to hire people to do? Maybe if government wasnt draining the nations economy to give so many dam handouts to people, that money could be spent in the private sector, pumping up a demand for me to hire.
I have a hard time getting mad at random poor people for getting money when they can get it, especially with unemployment how it is now... besides, standing in a line all day isn't exactly sitting on the couch and watching TV. Sad picture though.
Liberals need to get over themselves and face the facts. This is a cultural problem exacerbated by a complete and abject social failure in the black community. No amount of spin can help you escape the cold hard facts that black people are quick to jump in line at the first sound of a government handout. Am I generalizing? Sure.....but seriously....how many pictures do you need to see before you agree? You call it economic disparity...I call it a cultural problem that mandates that black people stay on the government tit. This is learned behavior...and black kids see it first hand in communities across the nation every day of the week, in good times and bad. It's a revolving door that liberals refuse to stop.
In Philly there was a near riot as blacks waited in line at a FEMA office. Supposedly the line was for people seeking assistance for damage from the hurricane. We got wind and rain in the city, nothing special. I got water in my basement, was talking about it to people at work, and a black secretary jumped into the conversation and told me to contact FEMA to get money to fix my basement. When I told her I shouldn't get taxpayer money to fix a leaking basement, she told me I was too negative.
As well as an automated phone call about making a claim with Fema, yesterday we had a door-to-door Fema rep. A fairly young one
He argued with me that we should put in a claim even though I told him the damage we had was minor (under $300) we could afford it, we didn't think of governement as Daddy and not applying was a matter of principle and I understood he thought we are 'stupid', not principled.
He did smile at that but didn't disagree.
I am happy to know many people in our area that are also not making claims. I do understand our sense of self-sufficiency will not make the financial situation in the US one whit better.
We also know we won't be hypocrits when we complain about it.
