Is this the reason why some poor people vote against their economic interests?
What is it you suppose are those economics interests you might think I'm voting against?
I realized long ago that although my life had very little to do with the Constitution of the U.S., that Constitution had everything to do with my life.
Great video and spot on. I'll have to see if I can find it, but I read one time that many on the right actually think by supporting the rich and giving them everything, they somehow will become magically rich themselves.
Voting for the US Consitution means more for the future of this Republic than voting in one's self interest. I wouldn't expect any far left Progressive to understand such a concept as it requires character.

It's a freakin' cartoon!
"Is this the reason why some poor people vote against their economic interests?"
They do that whenever they make a vote for the Left.
do you mean getting another handout from the federal/state goverments?
do you mean more wealth distribution?
did you ever think that those that do not want higher taxes may just want the federal goverment out of their lives.
The primary economic obstacle faced by poor people is at the state and local level, not at the federal level. State and local taxes tend to be regressive, while federal taxes tend to not be regressive.
Obstacles to economic advancement typically come from state and especially local governments. Local prohibitions of home businesses (zoning) and expensive permit and license requirements abound. Rules making home ownership out of reach of the poor and making renting more expensive (e.g. NIMBY policies, high unfair taxes on rental property) are common.
You should calculate how much government redistributes from the poor to you sometime.

So, what am I voting against?
The Constitution written and adopted by wealthy people, to the exclusion of the poor and the landless? The Constitution which apparently does not protect the property rights of the poor, since government has taken away the property rights they once enjoyed?
