Pathetic. Do you also want the government to wipe your a** and blow your nose?

Government is evil. Government takes my hard earned tax dollars and gives them to crooks like Solyndra.

I don't need government to tell me what to eat, drink or smoke.'

Government told us we cannot drink wine a few decades ago and we saw what that produced.

Government gave us slavery.

Government has executed innocent citizens.

Government tells us we cannot buy a car on Sunday.

Government tells us when we can open our stores.

Probably 50% of all government is worse than useless...it's oppressive.

You may need the nanny state, but most of us don't.

Because I'm an adult and I don't need "parents" to tell me how to live anymore. Liberty is making your own choices and accepting responsibility for the choices made.

Let's say you like to wake up at 8am, drink a cup of coffee, ride your bike for an hour, get in your car, go to the store, buy things you want to buy, go back to your home, that you bought because it was the one you wanted, decorated how you want it to be decorated, do some hobby that you like, write on City Data what your opinions are, watch certain shows on t.v., go to bed at midnight.

Those are YOUR choices.

Or, would you like the government nanny state parent to come and tell you what time you have to get up, that coffee is now banned because it's not healthy for you, (and they are paying for your healthcare so you don't get a say in the matter if you want coverage), dictates what Americans will be buying, offers everyone housing so that it all looks the same, everything must be the same, your hobby is considered a luxury and therefore unnecessary so it will be cut out of your life, you don't get to voice your opinion, shows on t.v. are even more heavily censored than they are now and you will only get to watch what the government wants you to watch, and you go to bed at 7pm, according to Big Brother because that is what is considered, "healthy" and an "adequate night's sleep".

Yah, it sounds bizarre but every single year, more and more and more of our LIBERTIES AND FREEDOMS are being chipped away because some people in this world think that having the government interfere with everything they do; all the rules and regulations and requirements, (better make sure that grass is mowed by Saturday at noon and it better be 1" high and not higher, they WILL come out and issue a citation if it isn't), is a great idea.

You had your childhood. Now you are an adult, act like an adult. You make adult decisions and you pay the consequences of those decisions or reap the rewards of those decisions. The point is, it is up to YOU what decisions you will make, NOT THE GOVERNMENT!

Edit: GAHARGHAGGHGGGGHHHH! I just realized who started this thread. DAMNIT, total waste of my time!

Governments control things and people through force (wars), coercion (threats) and taxation. That's it. Yes, some people need to be controlled. Look at OWS. They'll literally 'ish on you and your property if allowed. That's where limited government comes in.

Is anarchy far preferable to the government we have now?

Agree. The human race is on a path of "survival of the weakest" in contrast to all other forms of life on this planet.
