Is that requirement for U.S. citizens or for everyone? I don't see that mentioned on the citizenship requirements: Becoming a Canadian citizen: Who can apply and I also know of several West Indians who've emigrated there without 1/8 of that amount.

It appears that what I heard was talking about their Federal Investor program.

Sounds pretty reasonable. I wish we would adopt the same standards.
