Now Democrats finally realize if they stick together as strongly as Republicans have in recent years when fighting for what's right, they might actually have some power in Congress after all.

Thank you for acknowledging that Republicans have been sticking together when fighting for what's right.
Average is $108 dollars ?? Really..a campaign feather over $108 ?
$108.00 is a lot of money to a lot of people and could mean the difference in getting a needed prescription filled, gas in the car to go to the doctor (or job hunting), a utility bill paid, auto insurance premium paid, etc.

If you have a needed prescription then that $108 will take you 2 months to save up..average is $13/week.
You're looking more at Dominoes or Papa John's with that savings.
Rep. John Boehner: Opposing a 2-month payroll tax cut deal until now "may not have been politically the smartest thing."
Ya think?
With that, Boehner and the publicans in the house have given Obama a nice campaign feather that he can trot out to show that he'll fight for the middle class. Horrible miscalculation on Boehner's part.
That's pretty much a, "Duh"! Boehner is quite the "brain". Too funny to listen to him.
If you phrase the issue, "True or false? We should screw our grandkids even worse than we did before," I am not sure America is on board with you.
Cutting the funding for Social Security will be seen in later years as the beginning of the end for the program. The link between payments in and benefits out, however flawed an understanding that is, is the only thing that differentiated Social Security from welfare. It will turn into a giant wealth redistribution machine that will never be as widely supported in the future.
It is so funny seeing the {D} giving high fives when their baby SS is getting defunded. What a minute this is not right? they always accuse the {R}s of wanting to destroy SS. And here it is there POTUS and leaders are leading the way and they cheer. What a bunch of dupes they can not see the forest thru the trees.

Because they want their money NOW and don't care where it comes from.
They'll worry about the SS fund when they are approaching 65.
A recent report came out that the five metros most affected by the payroll tax cut are Washington, DC, Dallas, Houston, Nashville and Denver. Denver is in a swing state and the GOP didn't want to upset the ever so important Denverites.
