I am considered liberal by many but I consider myself independant. I am also Catholic. I do not want any religion banned but I do believe that religion has no place in our government. There are so many different regions in our country that politics should not be dominated by Christians. It makes me sick that conservatives bow to the religious right and pander to those Christian extremists.

Clearly, Jesus wasn't into whining against taxes. Your turn.
Jesus also said "Labor not for the food that perishes...but for that which brings eternal life".....As to taxes and rendering unto Ceasar, this follows the same pattern. Meaning..so I if you must pay taxes why lament that fact when in the end it doesn't matter. He wanted us to concern ourselves with the will of the Lord. The Lord cares not about money or material possession. So pay the taxes....keep up Ceasar off your back...and devote what you have to entering the "narrow gate" to Gods Kingdom.

So, why can't atheists or people of other religion outside of Islam and Christianity, and Jews, use Jesus' quote to argue against the same folks who claim to be Christians but couldn't be farther from what Jesus was about?
Heavenly copyright infringement.

I find it quite disturbing that eleven percent polled so far would ban a right to religion. I mean we are in the USA are we not? At times when I read responses from some people here, I think maybe we are in Russia or North Korea. It certainly is not the American way to take away peoples rights.

Why do conservatives try to pretend that liberals want to "ban" everything? You're the ones all up in a woman's uterus. Practice your delusion as you see fit. Just keep it out of the public arena. Christians always say their relationship with jesus is personal, well keep it personal and everything would be great.

I'm pretty left and your post is complete utter garbage.

I have no desire to ban Christianity or any religion. I do want to follow the 1st amendment and keep them separate.

Pray all you want, just don't force me to do it.

May the lord be with you.

I've got nothing against the man, and being anti-religion isn't the same as being anti-Christian.

My problem is when folks tell me that this country has to work on the Christian value system and then they attempt to legislate it into law. THEN i have an issue.

This is an EXCELLENT point. Libs most certainly have nothing against the Amish. In fact, i have tremendous admiration for them. There isn't a Christian faith in this country that lives more according to the letter of the Biblical Law than the Amish. In fact, no other faith is even in the same league.

So be more like the Amish, and libs might keep their mouths shut..

Care to amend your statement?
So Christianity is an extemest religion now? Whatever. So you think your religion is fine but other religions are wrong, and the difference between you and a Christian/Muslim is what exactly?
