You are stopping their growth and their maturing.

Yes.

It is.

Societal taboos=/=natural.

Unless you get permission, and then it's all fine and dandy.

Non-monogamous married individual here.

You're right, we can control our feelings.

Like we can control our feelings of idiocy and not discriminate against homosexuals.

Most humans do not mate for life.

Genetically speaking, monogamy is not preferable to mating with a variety of individuals.

I guess you haven't heard the New York school system is going to teach grade school kids about beastility. Any and all sex is fair game to teach now, I guess. Slippery slope for sure.

Did human who was attacked give consent?

Is an animal capable of giving consent?

Are two (or 3 or 9 or ?) homosexuals capable of giving consent?

Spoiler
New blood joins this earth
And quickly he's subdued
Through constant pained disgrace
The young boy learns their rules

With time the child draws in
This whipping boy done wrong
Deprived of all his thoughts
The young man struggles on and on he's known
A vow unto his own
That never from this day
His will they'll take away-eay

Chorus:

What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN

They dedicate their lives
To RUNNING all of his
He tries to please THEM all
This bitter man he is
Throughout his life the same
He's battled constantly
This fight he cannot win
A tired man they see no longer cares
The old man then prepares
To die regretfully
That old man here is me

What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN

(instrumental)

What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN

whoa, whoa

Never Free
Never Me
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN
You labeled me
I'll label you
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN
Never Free
Never Me
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN
You labeled me
I'll label you
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN
Never Free
Never Me
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN

.....

*sigh*

I guess I'll repeat it again.

Natural=/= desirable.

Sad but true. No reason to put monogamy down though. Monogamy is the preferred way for a peaceful society---ever look at how our kids are hurting?

HUH? Tell that to your wife/husband.

Yes, humans can control both. Telling people we are just animals tells them they are not in control. We may be in the animal species but that is where it ends. We have free will.

I frequently sleep with my buddies wives, and them with mine. Far from causing hurt, it has led to the most amazing friendships I've ever had the pleasure to be associated with. Not suggesting it's a lifestyle for everyone, it's not, but don't assume that your way is the right way for everyone.

Viva la difference. Really, the fundamental cause of the issues displayed in this entire thread is people who think everyone should exist as they do. I'm straight, therefore everyone should be. I'm monogamous, ditto. If people simply acknowledged that different people have different lifestyles, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that because it's a part of the human condition then we'd be so much better off. Sadly, some need to bully others.

Why is monogamy the preferred way for a peaceful society?
What does monogamy have to do with kids hurting?

I'm not married.
But what does telling my hypothetical wife/husband about the genetic advantages of non-monogamous breeding have to do with anything?

What? Why does telling people we are animals tell them that we are not in control?

Non-monogamous married father here.

Our daughter is not hurting in any way and is rather well adjusted.

We had a long conversation about it, actually.

And we both agreed that monogamy when it comes to sex and relationships is just stupid.
