Ohio Landlord Fights Judge Ruling Against 'White Only' Pool Sign | Fox News

Quote:
CINCINNATI – A landlord found to have discriminated against a black girl by posting a "White Only" sign at a swimming pool wants a state civil rights commission to reconsider its decision.
IMO, discrimination like this should not be allowed, even if its on private property. The landlord was concerned about the girl's hair chemicals? WTF? If that's really what this was about, why make it a race thing? Why not just prohibit people from using the pool after using certain types of chemicals?

Private land owners should be able to discriminate against who they'd like. If an black business owner doesn't want to serve white folks, he should be able to limit who enters his store.

That said, I find what this land lord did to be terrible, and I hope that those in Ohio and the surrounding community ban together to abandon this building and not rent there at all until the sign is taken down or is bought by a new owner.

We should keep anti discimination laws for public land and facilities, but privately owned should mean that you can do what you want on your land.

You don't know that for sure. And the "he" is a "she" anyway.

The girl is probably better off not entering that pool. She probably bathe in it.

The lady claims she only put the sign up because the black girl has chemicals in her hair that might make the water cloudy.

Her ass is grass, unless she can prove that no white people use chemicals in their hair, i.e. dyes, perm , colorings, gel, shampoos, conditioners, etc.

Let's be serious, who believes this b.s. excuse??

Believe me, there are racists on here who would happily buy that excuse.

Not surprising the right wing of this country is on a hard push to bring things like this back. The tea party ignited that fire.

According to the article, the landlord declared the swimming pool to be public use, in addition to being white-only. I believe this is where the problem lies.
