Currently as of 2012 - the federal minimum wage is $7.25/hour.

Most states adopted the federal minimum wage, however some states have their own minimum wage, ranging from as low as $5.15/hour in Wyoming, to as high as $9.04/hour in Washington State. Few cities, such as San Francisco have a minimum wage of $10.24/hour.

What is a fair amount of minimum wage in the United States do you think?
I think it should be $10 an hour - but that's my opinion.

There should be no minimum wage.
Besides being unconstitutional, it increases unemployment and infringes on the rights of business owners.

Adjusted for inflation, the MW was higher in 1968 and has not kept up with the cost of living. If one wants to get people off of Food Stamps, mandate that the MW has to be a living wage. Otherwise, the taxpayer is subsidizing WalMart.

I guess you haven't heard the news, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the minimum wage is constitutional -- and that was 1941.

Business do not have the right to pay substandard wages no more than they have a right to put substandard products on the market or pollute the environment. Ending slavery also infringed upon the rights of business owners/plantation owners. But other rights are paramount to the unbridled rights of business owners.

get rid of food stamps. No reason or authority for our federal government to be subsidizing poverty.

Sorry, I reject their interpretation.

Yeah...

What would a number of educated, experienced, expert professionals over the course of 7 decades know in comparison to what you feel about it?

There should be no minimum wage.

We certainly need to take steps to help labor, especially unskilled labor, relative to our current pro-business, pro-corporate policies; but raising the minimum wage (and unionization) are both counterproductive in the long run.

By your own logic, you must agree with everything our government says and does.

No, they provided a detailed reasoning a logical conclusion that has been reviewed and reaffirmed by many people with detailed education and extensive experience in the subject. Your logic is that you just "reject it" as a rebuttal. Two words without any backup is not any sort of rebuttal to a detailed document like that. Also no, because I don't agree with your pathetic assessment doesn't mean total trust. That is a false dichotomy, and a really awfully bad one at that.
