5. Stop giving money to every other Nnation on the globe, that money is U.S. Citizen tax money, and it's used for defense of our country, to page government wages, interstate system, those things that are required by our constitution.
It's really not that "simple", but whatever floats your boat. Wouldn't the above also hasten the type of society that the OP was describing anyway? You do know that welfare states were initiated by all developed countries partly because private charities were not able to cope?

But of course, like many on here, it just boils down to the fact that you'd rather save a proportion of the federal budget so you can save a few tax pennies, while turning the other cheek as people begin to starve or are forced to become slaves.

It's hilarious how many of you believe that all our problems will be solved by just eliminating welfare. Name a country on earth where this has been proven to work?

I understand that a family of four (in a low cost of living medium sized town) could make $80K/yr and qualify for public housing. The local housing authority bought an apartment complex and told the current residents to apply for public housing in order to stay in their apartments. Many who had been paying rent without difficulty were told that the government would subsidize their housing. Some were actually distressed that they were being classified as poor since they did not consider that to be the case. Maybe that is an explanation for some of they rising statistics on poverty.

And if you've been paying attention, the government is actually increasing these programs so that they either run longer or have expanded eligibility requirements.

We are trending towards a greater number of people that NEED government subsidies in order for them to live in the US.
...and if it continues, Margaret Thatcher's oft quoted "The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." will result in the USA resembling Greece.

If you were paying any attention, you would know I am not a Democrat. As for the Trayvon murder, I will leave that to the courts to judge.

A futile attempt to get you to back up your assertions......I know...I know.
No, but you are supporting it.

Example:
#20 The average duration of unemployment in the United States is nearly three times as long as it was back in the year 2000.
So let me ask you this, why is this a half truth? The simple answer is we just went through a Major Recession, people are out of work, that is what happens during such down turns in the economy. I should not even have to remind you or anyone else of that Fact. I would also add that unemployment levels are dropping, as most economists, major businesses and even I said would said last year was going to happen. So why would anyone want people to be out of work, they don't, but yet the listing makes it sound as if it is all part of some grand scheme to turn the American worker into some sort of serf.
Let me remind you that anyone can find data to creat a list that supports whatever conspiracy theory they want to make up, it does not even take all that much effort, use Google and find what you want and ignore the rest. The problem with doing so is that others might dare to question the theory and at that point it is not up to those questioning the theory to prove it wrong, it is up to the person making the claims to back it up with the facts, ALL the facts. That is the difference between a person truely interested in only the truth and one that allows others to do their thinking for them no matter if they are getting the whole truth or not. So who is it that is being manipulated?
Thanks for playing

Of course relying on government benefits makes you a slave a well, so you don't really have much of a point.

The government can change the rules at any time - change how much you get, the requirements for getting it, or the rules for what you can spend it on.

Plus continuing to get it locks your vote in to whoever is giving it to you which warps the fabric of democracy.

Reliance on government for sustenance breaks down the need for family. Breaks down the need for a work ethic. Breaks down self esteem as an independent individual. Breaks down a need for education.

But none of these things matter to the liberal. It's always just "think of the struggling poor! they need to eat!" with zero thought about what the actual effects are of their policies.
